The Masterpiece - A child's Last request.

My Precious Little Son, David passed away in 1977.   I have never forgotten his smile, his warmth, his love. The  early morning of the day that he drowned, he left his family some special art work. I cut it from the wall and saved it.
I will always miss him.
This is the poem I wrote for him.

"THE MASTERPIECE"
by Mary Flower

No other piece of artwork in the entire world can compare
To that of my sweet son.
He is not a Rembrandt or a Leonardo De Vinci.
But his artwork is so much greater to me.
For one summer morning,
I think he knew that God would call him home
to a place where he was needed more,
To leave his mother's and father's arms empty and aching.
And leave his brother and sister to play without him.
So on an unfinished bathroom wall,
And with a few crayons,
He scribbled out his heart as if to say:
"I love you, Remember me Please"

  1. So much LOVE and a hole in ones heart that will never mend.
"The mention of my child's name may bring tears to my eyes,
But it never fails to bring music to my ears.

If you are really my friend,

let me hear the music of his name!

It soothes my broken heart and sings to my soul!"

  4. Bless you Mary. It has only been 19 yrs. since my son was murdered...I'm not sure when I will be able to ever create anything around him. The pain is still far to sharp.
